TFMoran Provides Engineering for Woodmont Commons

Londonderry, NH – TFMoran provided civil and structural engineering services for Main Street at Woodmont Commons, a new four-story, 87-unit luxury apartment building. The units consist of a variety of studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom apartments. In addition, the building has 23,000sf of retail space to be completed on the first floor where tenants and Woodmont Commons’ visitors can shop. Continue Reading →

ASCE-NH  “The New Hampshire Civil Engineer” March 2020 Newsletter Cover featured a great photo of TFMoran’s Senior Project Engineer, Jeremy Belanger, PE, receiving the Young Engineer of the Year Award. This distinguished award was presented by ASCE-NH Board Member, Nick Golon. ASCE-NH nominated Jeremy not only for his involvement in ASCE-NH, but for his outstanding work ethic, his integrity as a young professional, his dedication and enthusiasm for the Civil Engineering profession, and his volunteerism in giving back to the community. Jeremy was selected by a jury of his peers from New Hampshire’s Joint Engineering Societies.

The ASCE-NH President’s Message features a photo of Jeremy holding his award certificate standing next to New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, along with members of New Hampshire’s Joint Engineering Societies. The March newsletter covers the 2020 Engineers Week Awards Banquet & Exhibition recognizing both the 2020 Young Engineer of the Year, Jeremy Belanger, PE and 2020 Engineer of the Year, Robert “Bob” Henry, Ph.D., PE, a Professor at the University of New Hampshire for 40+ years. The awards banquet took place in Concord during National Engineers Week.

TFMoran is very proud to have Jeremy on our team.

New Hampshire Union Leader promotes Engineers Week 2020

The New Hampshire Union Leader is one of several local newspapers dedicating a special section to Engineers Week. This week is promoted annually by DiscoverE, an ASCE partner, to promote the profession and celebrate engineers by showing the world the important work engineers contribute to our every day lives. Presidents’ Day, Monday, February 16th starts off the week, and the Union Leader is showcasing various types of New Hampshire civil engineering projects and engineering news from all around the state. The front page of this special section announces that TFMoran’s Jeremy Belanger was named 2020 Young Engineer of the Year. TFMoran is very proud to have Jeremy on our team and we congratulate him for all of his hard work, dedication and accomplishments. Jeremy was recently promoted to a Senior Engineer and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of New Hampshire.

Congratulations also to Bob Henry, who was named Engineer of the Year. According to the Union Leader article, Bob had a 40-year career at the University of New Hampshire mentoring more than a thousand students.

TFMoran’s Nick Golon in the New Hampshire Union Leader 2020 Class of “40 Under Forty”

Congratulations to TFMoran Senior Project Manager, Nick Golon, PE for being recognized by the New Hampshire Union Leader as one of the state’s standout young professionals!

On Monday, January 27th a special edition was published in the Union Leader’s business section, 2020 Class of 40 Under Forty. Nick was featured as one of the 40 best and brightest young leaders in New Hampshire for his work as a civil engineer and his community involvement. Nick joined TFMoran’s Civil Engineering Department in July 2006 and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of New Hampshire and Maine. His engineering background includes a diverse cross-section of projects ranging from the residential and the commercial market to industrial and energy applications. His history of successfully managing fast-paced multi-discipline projects provides a strategic benefit to any project team. Nick also serves on the American Society of Civil Engineers-New Hampshire Section Board of Directors and has participated in the ASCE Legislative Fly-In program in Washington, DC. He recently helped ASCE-NH raise $15,000 for the Scholarship Fund for current and prospective New Hampshire engineering students. Nick gives back to his community in many ways including volunteering on numerous non-profit organizations and mentoring New Hampshire students interested in science, engineering and construction.

A reception to honor the 2020 Class is scheduled for March 18th at the Grappone Center in Concord. This is the 19th annual Class of 40 Under Forty event. TFMoran congratulates all 40 of the honorees. We thank you for your contributions in making New Hampshire a better place to work and live. Listen to TFM’s Eric Salovitch discuss Mount Tecumseh on a National Surveyor’s Podcast

Eric Salovitch, one of TFMoran’s Portsmouth Survey Technicians, is the Chair of the newly formed group The Young Surveyor’s Network NH Society. As a NHLSA Young Surveyor, Eric was featured on a December podcast for the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS). The NSPS recently announced their new podcast “Surveyor Says!” episodes featuring all things surveying. The Episode 5 podcast features Eric’s interview with NSPS Vice President Timothy Burch, discussing the challenges, methodologies and results of the Mount Tecumseh survey project. Eric thanked many of the local surveying companies who helped out with lending their equipment. Mount Tecumseh is located in Grafton County, New Hampshire and is part of the White Mountains. It is listed as one of the forty-eight 4,000 footer mountains to hike in New Hampshire according to the Appalachian Mountain Club.

Dylan Cruess, COO of TFMoran, honored as one of New Hampshire’s Most Influential Business Leaders

Congratulations to TFMoran’s Chief Operating Officer, Dylan Cruess, who was selected as one of New Hampshire’s 200 Most Influential Business Leaders “New Hampshire 200” by New Hampshire Business Review. TFMoran’s principals, along with members of Dylan’s family, attended the New Hampshire 200 Reception, proudly supporting him for this great honor. The celebration was held on October 30, 2019 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester for the 200 prominent individuals featured in the NHBR inaugural publication, “New Hampshire 200”.

New Hampshire Business Review conducted a year-long research initiative led by the editors, who dove into looking for the state’s most influential business leaders in the private sector, across major industries. In choosing the individuals for New Hampshire 200, the editors of the NHBR collected suggestions and nominations from industry contacts throughout the state to determine the individuals who have had the greatest impact on New Hampshire’s economy, business climate and quality of life. The business leaders selected have a real influence within their professions, industries and communities, along with making an important and lasting imprint where they live and work.

All the selected individuals for New Hampshire 200 were asked to complete a questionnaire that would allow readers of the publication to get an inside look at the lives of the state’s most influential business leaders. When asked what was the most important business lesson learned, Dylan stated, “There are about two degrees of separation in the business community. It’s vitally important, even in the most challenging circumstances, that you treat people with respect and fairness. Building and maintaining a great reputation and fostering good relationships are crucial.” His advice to those in the same industry is to make a difference in the communities where you live and work. And, to be involved in both industry-related associations, as well as non-profit organizations as an investment that not only benefits your business, but creates a socially conscious culture in your organization.

Dylan joined TFMoran in 2001 after graduating from Bates College earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He then became an owner and took on the role of Chief Operating Officer when TFMoran was transferred to four senior employees in 2013. TFMoran Provides Services for Southern NH University Project

Manchester, NH – TFMoran of Bedford worked with SNHU and Wilson HGA to provide survey, permitting, and civil/ site engineering services for the new College of Engineering, Technology and Aeronautics (CETA) at Southern New Hampshire University, located on the west side of campus.

The new three-story, 67,000sf state-of-the-art academic building will be equipped with classrooms, offices and laboratories to serve the science and engineering studies at SNHU. Continue Reading →

TFMoran provides civil/structural design for parking complex to serve Millyard growth

While it may seem unusual to compare a construction project to a dance, progress on the newly completed Southern New Hampshire University Milllyard Parking Garage was a delicate balance necessitating carefully calculated timing throughout the process.

“It was a very compact site,” says Bob Duval, president of TFMoran — which provided survey, civil engineering, structural engineering, site permitting and landscape architectural services. “There was little to no adjacent land available for staging and temporary construction operations. The site had to be broken up into a chess board of construction phasing.” Due to strict space limitations on-site, the garage containing approximately 1,700 parking spaces, abutting South Commercial Street, the Merrimack River and the Langer Place Mill in the south end of the Millyard, was approached with a careful eye on the next move, every step of the way. TFMoran Retail and Hospitality Project Featured in High-Profile Monthly

High-Profile‘s August issue highlighted retail and hospitality, which includes TFMoran’s work on the highly anticipated hotel and restaurant destination, Tru by Hilton and T-Bones Restaurant. The hotel and restaurant destination is off Interstate 93 in Concord, NH on the site of the former Days Inn. TFMoran is providing civil and traffic engineering, land surveying, landscape architecture and construction administration services for the project. Project team members include Market Square Architects, Fulcrum Associates and Opechee Construction.

TFMoran Underway on Tru by Hilton and T-Bones Restaurant

Concord, NH -Construction is well-underway at the site of the former Days Inn on South Main Street in Concord, NH, where TFMoran is working closely with Duprey Hospitality and Great NH Restaurants.

The site will be the location of a Tru by Hilton hotel for Duprey Hospitality, as well as T-Bones for Great NH Restaurants. When completed, both hotel and restaurant are expected to be a popular destination for NH tourists and locals because of their convenient location off Interstate 93.

Construction has begun for the Tru by Hilton, a four-story hotel, with 85 guest rooms and plenty of functional public space. Tru is described as a brand-new hotel experience from Hilton that’s vibrant, affordable and young-at-heart.  The building features a 2,000 s/f open concept lobby with multiple areas for guests to work, eat and lounge. The size of guest rooms has been minimized with an efficient design including open closets, rolling desks, and plenty of storage and power outlets. TFMoran has teamed with Opechee Construction and is providing civil and traffic engineering, land surveying, landscape architecture and construction administration services. The hotel is expected to open in the Spring of 2020.

The T-Bones restaurant will provide a high-quality dining experience and will be the largest stand-alone T-Bones location for Great NH Restaurants. The restaurant is 9,420 s/f which includes a 260-seat indoor dining room and 35-seat outdoor patio. TFMoran is supporting the efforts of the project architect, Market Square Architects of Portsmouth and builder, Fulcrum Associates of Amherst, where they are providing civil, traffic and structural engineering, land surveying, landscape architecture and construction administration services for the project. A groundbreaking ceremony was recently held at the site to officially welcome the restaurant which is set to open in the winter of 2020.
