TFMoran sponsored the 8th Annual Friends of Aine Kids Try-Athlon, held Sunday, August 15 at Bedford High School.

The Friends of Aine Kids Try-Athlon is a three-sport event that includes running, swimming, and biking, for kids of all ages to participate regardless of athletic ability, and designed for all to be triumphant! After the race, participants were invited to join activities including face painting, a jump house, and treats!

All proceeds support the Friends of Aine Center for Grieving Children & Families. The event held in Aine’s memory raises funds to help grieving families through bereavement support tailored to children, teens, and adults.

About Friends of Aine

Friends of Aine is a 501c3 non-profit organization established to provide bereavement support services to grieving children and families.

Borne out of the tragic loss of Aine Marie Phillips (pronounced Ahn-ya) at age 8, and the recognition that bereavement services for Aine’s surviving 5-year-old sister, Bella, were sadly scarce, parents David and Christine set out to fill this void. Friends of Aine was developed to create an enduring legacy for Aine that embodies her spirit and character by helping children and their families who are grieving the loss of a loved one.

Dylan Cruess’ Mid-Year Engineering Review published in New England Real Estate Journal

New England Real Estate Journal’s July 30th issue features a Mid-Year Review Spotlight with 18 professionals from numerous industries, including TFMoran’s Chief Operating Officer, Dylan Cruess. Dylan gives his perspective on how the first half of 2021 is going in the engineering field. The good news is “So far in 2021 the positive factors outweigh the economic uncertainties.”  Dylan writes about challenges of the rising costs of construction materials and supply delays that our clients are facing in their development projects, along with more strict environmental regulations, plus approval and permitting delays. Additionally, there is a high demand for new construction of affordable multi-family housing and warehouse distribution facilities, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Overall, the first half of 2021 has been strong despite these uncertainties and many of TFMoran’s clients are optimistic about the future. The engineering and construction industries are as busy as ever.

Mid-Year Review Spotlight – Engineer

So far in 2021 the positive factors outweigh the economic uncertainties.

This has been quite a year so far! Many aspects about the economy seem counterintuitive and unpredictable thus far which historically should cause a reduction in new development projects, but my firm, and the construction industry as a whole, are as busy as ever. Continue Reading →

NHDOT I-93 Widening Project receives ASCE-NH 2021 Outstanding Civil Engineering Award

Congratulations to the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) for receiving the 2021 ASCE-NH Outstanding Civil Engineering Award for their work on the I-93 Widening Project from Salem to Manchester, completed this spring. The award was presented during the American Society of Civil Engineers NH section (ASCE-NH) Annual Meeting held on July 14th. TFMoran’s Stormwater Monitoring Team is very proud to be a part of this incredible project that entailed widening a 19.8-mile segment of the interstate from Manchester to the Massachusetts state line, as well as upgrades to 5 interchanges and 45 bridges. The goal was to decongest traffic and enhance the safety of motorists.

TFMoran’s responsibility was to provide Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), perform stormwater turbidity monitoring and inspection services for the project. Our team of Certified Professionals in Erosion Sediment Control (CPESC), Certified Erosion and Sediment Stormwater Inspectors (CESSWI) and Environmental Scientists worked closely with NHDOT and NHDES project officials. Construction included many drainage and water quality improvements designed to protect NH’s streams, ponds and lakes along this segment; notably, thousands of engineering hours and millions of dollars were spent to minimize impacts to Canobie Lake and Cobbetts Pond from stormwater from the expansion. The project was designed with the intent to collect and treat stormwater runoff using Best Management Practices (BMPs) such as gravel wetlands, extended wet detention, and infiltration basins; safeguards were also implemented to protect said BMPs.

The TFMoran team also worked closely with the highway builders including R.S. Audley, Weaver Brothers Construction, George R. Cairns & Sons, Severino Trucking Co., Alvin J. Coleman & Sons, and E.D. Swett.

TFMoran’s Justin Macek Organizes Charity Golf Tournament Benefitting NAMI

Justin Macek of the TFMoran Seacoast Division recently put on a charity golf tournament benefiting the Nation Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) National and New Hampshire Chapters. NAMI provides resources for people affected by mental illness and strives to improve their quality of life through information, education, and support.

Proceeds from the tournament and donations made through the associated NAMI fundraising page helped raised over $15,000 for this great cause. These funds will help provide financial resources to assist with raising awareness on the importance of mental health, suicide prevention, and combatting stigma often times associated with mental illness.

TFMoran proudly sponsored the longest drive competition for the event, where over 120 golfers were in attendance. This charity event not only raised a great deal of funds and awareness but also brought together a large number of friends and family from the local community to remember an amazing person.

Great job Justin!
