TFMoran provided civil/site engineering, environmental permitting, landscape architecture and land surveying for the latest building in Housing Initiatives of New England’s (HINEC) portfolio of independent and affordable senior housing. The project involved a combination of historic rehabilitation and new construction, with the complete renovation and addition to the building to now serve as affordable senior living apartments. The building, which was constructed in the 1800s, served as a schoolhouse and later as the Milford Cabinet Newspaper before sitting vacant. The project has doubled the building’s size to 24,000sf and will provide 18 one-bedroom apartments, activity and community spaces. Site improvements included a patio, additional green space, and associated parking.
