TFMoran provided site design, permitting, and landscape architecture services for this new apartment building as part of the new Goffe Mill Plaza located off of South River Road (US Route 3). “The Chandler” is a 40,000+sf, 4/5-story, 133-unit residential apartment building complete with a fitness center, lounge, roof deck, and dog wash station.
The 16.2-acre historic site was the former site of the Sheraton Wayfarer Inn, originally developed in 1744 by Colonel John Goffe. A restored historic mill building remains on the site as part of a pedestrian-friendly park design. The mixed-use development also includes a 40,000sf Whole Foods Market with an attached 8,800sf retail building, a bank, and plans for a restaurant.
The new residents at The Chandler will have many conveniences within walking distance for shopping, dining and banking. Located on the north side of the apartment complex is The Bedford Mall which includes retail stores such as Kohl’s, Marshalls, HomeSense, Sierra, Staples, plus Starbucks and Chipotle restaurants, and two banks. On the south side is Market and Main, a new mixed-use development that is currently under construction. The first phase of construction is complete with Trader Joe’s and The Friendly Toast restaurant.
The project team included Cube3 Studio for Architectural Design; Pilot Construction as General Contractor; and Boucher Construction as Site Contractor.
Construction of The Chandler Apartments was completed in Fall 2020.
