TFM Enjoys a Night Out at the NH Fisher Cats!

On Friday, July 12th TFMoran Friends and Family gathered together at the Northeast Delta Stadium for a fun night of baseball, food, and games! The New Hampshire Fisher Cats played against Binghampton Rumble Ponies, losing with a final score of 6-4. Throughout the night, burgers, hot dogs, mac and cheese, and chicken were served. We also had a few special guests visit us during the game including Fungo, the Fisher Cat’s mascot, and Star Wars characters. As the night came to an end, cookies and ice cream were served! To top it all off a fun game of hit the target was played, with a few close hits by our own TFM’ers!

TFMoran Sponsors Bedford’s First Robotics Team Red Storm 509

FIRST Robotics Team Red Storm 509 (sponsored by TFMoran) had many successes during their 2023-2024 season. Because of our donation, the team was able to host two FIRST robotics events, as well as expand their robotics mentorship by starting an additional FTC team, and begin a new FLL initiative through their new team.

This year was one of the most successful years for the Bedford First Robotics Team. With the help of our donation, they were one of two teams to earn the Engineering Inspiration award at the New England district championship event. Not only that, but the team placed 10th in their division, thereby placing the team in the top 2% of teams worldwide.

TFMoran as always is happy to help support the future of engineering. We are proud to be a sponsor and look forward to supporting your future endeavors! Great job!

Supporting NHBCA in the Art of Healing

The New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts (NHBCA) is collaborating with NH Hospital to commission an artist to design a mural for their staff breakroom. TFMoran and other local businesses are contributing to help bring “The Art of Healing” to NH Hospital.

The NHBCA has collected donations to create a serene scene that provides hospital staff with an aesthetically pleasing, respite-inspired space. The artwork will promote self-care and well-being for their community of caregivers and support staff who dedicate their lives to the care of some of New Hampshire’s most vulnerable populations.

The NHBCA is looking to do our part (in a modest way) to address the mental health crisis that affects individuals, families, communities and the workplace. These frontline workers are dedicated to serving our fellow citizens and we believe they need to be recognized for the value they bring to not only this segment of the population but to all who live and work in New Hampshire. The arts naturally promote a more humane society and are an essential tool for creating a greater sense of wellbeing for all, whether it is through direct participation in or appreciation of arts and culture.

The mural design is inspired by input from the NHH staff who utilize the breakroom. The goal of the project is to imbue the room with a sense of relaxation, rejuvenation, and refreshment.

We envision our New Hampshire Hospital staff breakroom to be a pleasant place where employees gather to share a coffee, have a chat and unwind from the daily stresses of their workload.

Other businesses supporting the project include Northeast Delta Dental, Orr & Reno, Dartmouth Health, Lavallee Brensinger Architects, and Baker, Newman, Noyes.

The finished mural was unveiled on Monday, April 29, 2024.

Artist Karen Munday Lincoln designed and painted the piece with input from the New Hampshire Hospital staff who utilize the break room. The final product is a serene river scene in a mountain landscape.

Dylan Cruess Set to Take a Plunge for Special Olympics of New Hampshire

Coke Northeast is hosting the 25th Anniversary of their Penguin Plunge this February 11th, 2024. This fundraiser for Special Olympics New Hampshire (SONH) takes place at Hampton Beach, NH where participants plunge into the freezing water of the ocean. The Penguin Plunge is one of the many plunges alike put on this winter to raise money for SONH.

The mission of Special Olympics New Hampshire is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

TFMoran’s Dylan Cruess will be taking the plunge this year, help him reach his fundraising goal by donating here!

TFMoran supports McKelvie Intermediate School Move-A-Thon

TFMoran is a proud sponsor of the McKelvie Intermediate School Move-A-Thon, an event to raise funds to provide students and teachers with useful resources in and out of the classroom. In years past, some of these resources included updated technology and Chromebooks for student use, updates to the McKelvie courtyard and playground, and teacher “wish list” items that enhance classroom instruction and lessons. This years funds will go towards updating student spaces within the library, additions to the playground and providing teachers with “wish list” items for their instructional use.

TFMoran Supports NH Envirothon

TFMoran is deeply involved in our local community and we support many youth organizations. Recently, TFMoran made a donation to support NH Envirothon, an educational program for students to gain hands-on experience in the field of environmental sciences and natural resources.

Live Free and Conserve!

Since 1992, NH Envirothon has inspired teens to make responsible environmental and natural resource decisions through real-world, hands-on educational experiences. Many students step away from the Envirothon experience excited about learning and motivated to pursue careers in environmental studies, environmental law, natural sciences, and natural resource management.

Envirothon Competition

Each year, volunteer advisers coach teams with assistance from local conservation districts, forestry associations and participating natural resource agencies and organizations. Students are tested on their knowledge in five topic areas: aquatics, forestry, soils, wildlife and current environmental issues. Through the program, students develop an understanding of effective teamwork, resource management and ecology. At the same time, they gain valuable exposure to a range of disciplines while exploring possible career paths. Winning teams from each participating state and province advance to the National Conservation Foundation Envirothon (NCFE) to compete for national recognition, scholarships and prizes. 

The Envirothon Competition is an amazing cross-curriculum adventure, impacting not only the sciences but history and cultural studies as well. Teachers, home-school parents, scout and group leaders can build a team. Some educators involve a whole class, others advise teams of five members as a club or after school activity. Open to all high school students, a team may be sponsored by a school, home-school group, agricultural association, scout, or community service group.

TFMoran Sponsors QC Bike Collective’s Tour of Manchester 2023

TFMoran is a proud supporter of Queen City Bike Collective and their annual Tour of Manchester! This year’s event will take place on September 17th, 2023. This family-friendly bike ride is a 30-mile route stopping at natural resources and sights throughout the City of Manchester including Rock Rimmon, Nutts Pond Recreation Trail, Aviation Museum of New Hampshire, Lake Massabesic and the historic Weston Observatory.

TFMoran Civil Engineering Department Manager and Principal, Nick Golon, PE invested his time to plan the event on behalf of the Manchester Conservation Commission. The event benefits the Manchester Conservation Fund which provides financial support for citywide environmental projects including education, conservation, and restoration of our natural resources.

TFMoran Hosts 26th Annual Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Networking Summer BBQ

TFMoran proudly hosted the Greater Manchester Chamber’s “Network It Night” BBQ event for the 26th year on Thursday, August 17th. Over 180 chamber members, guests, TFMoran staff, and their families enjoyed the evening at the Bedford office. Although it was a cloudy day everyone stayed cheerful and positive since it didn’t rain! This year’s theme went along with TFMoran’s recent projects in the industrial sector. Guests could view some of TFMoran’s recent engineering projects, and even get an up-close look at our latest land surveying equipment.

Tidewater Catering of Manchester, NH did a great job grilling steak tips & chicken, and a spread of summer salads. while The Inside Scoop treated us to Salted Caramel Pretzel and Purple Cow ice cream. Raffle prizes were given away, including our new TFM water bottles!

Thank you to the Greater Manchester Chamber board and members for joining us for such a fun event. And a big thank you to all the TFM staff who helped to make this another successful event!

TFM Sponsors the 2023 Campbell High School Athletics Golf Tournament!

On Wednesday July 26th, Dan Blais and Jackie Gamache participated in the Campbell High School Athletics Golf Tournament at Passaconaway Country Club in Litchfield, NH. Dan and Jackie met up with Emily Gamache and Terry Blais to play as a team in the tournament. The funds raised help pay for equipment, jerseys and end of the year sports banquets at CHS.

TFMoran sponsored this event and made a donation for the cause! Jackie and Emily are both Campbell High School alumni. Jackie played on the golf team and participated in other team sports as well.

Breakfast muffins and water were provided to all who participated as well as hotdogs, burgers, and sausages for a delicious lunch! Cookies were also served at the end which was definitely well-earned after a great day out on the green!

TFMoran attends Girls Inc. Ribbon-Cutting for Renovated Play Area

TFMoran COO Dylan Cruess attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Girl’s Inc.‘s new playground on Varney Street in Manchester, NH held on Friday, September 24th. Although it was raining, the day was spent celebrating the people and friends who helped to make it happen. TFMoran provided conceptual layout and civil permitting services to completely renovate the play area, a place for girls to have a safe and welcoming space to play, learn new sports, and make memories with friends.
