TGIF! TFMoran Celebrating Engineers Week 2020

February 16-22, 2020 was National Engineers Week and TFMoran had a lot to Celebrate! TFMoran’s Bedford and Portsmouth offices took a late break on Friday afternoon for a “T.G.I.F” celebration of the week and recent engineering awards and staff news. The Bedford staff enjoyed an assortment of food from Puritan Backroom such as chicken tenders, stuffed shells, meatballs and cheese sticks, while the Portsmouth office was treated to pulled-pork sandwiches.

Besides celebrating our profession, we celebrated our staff who either recently won awards, were promoted or passed their PE exams. The big news was, our very own Jeremy Belanger who was selected by a jury of his peers from New Hampshire’s Joint Engineering Societies as the 2020 Young Engineer of the Year! Nick Golon was another TFMer to celebrate, he was recently in the Union Leader for being recognized as one of the state’s standout young professionals in the 2020 Class of “40 Under Forty”. TFM’s Jen Porter and Tom Burns were celebrated as they both were promoted to Senior level. And, more exciting news to celebrate was that Natasha Kultchitsky and Jeremy Belanger recently passed the NH Professional Engineering exam. Congratulations to all for your accomplishments! We are proud to have you on the TFMoran team.

Last, but by no means least, we celebrated that TFMoran was recently voted 2020 Best of Business in the Engineering category by New Hampshire Business Review readers for the 8th straight year! We will be celebrating at BOB Award Party hosted by NHBR on March 12th at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord.

Did you know? Engineers Week was first started in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers to call attention to the contributions to society that engineers make. It was intentionally planned to include George Washington’s birthday of February 22, as he is considered the first engineer- as a surveyor!

“Pre-Super Bowl TGIF” Celebration at TFMoran’s Bedford Office

The Bedford office celebrated with a “Pre-Super Bowl LIII TGIF” gathering on February 1, 2019. Members of the Bedford office wore their favorite NE Patriots themed attire to work, from sweatshirts, to sox, to earrings, and met in the lobby at the end of the day to enjoy appetizers and beverages. The delicious appetizers (including chicken wings) were catered by TGI Fridays. Everyone had a great time, discussing plans for the Super Bowl and reminiscing on memories of past Patriot’s Super Bowls. This was the 9th time that the Patriots have been to the Super Bowl in the past 20 years, and would marked Tom Brady’s 6th Super Bowl victory!

Monday morning talk around the water cooler was how the game was a defensive battle but the Patriots managed to pull away in the 4th quarter after a terrific catch by Gronk, a touchdown from Sony Michel, and a field goal by Gostkowski to seal the game.

Congratulations to the Patriots on another Super Bowl victory!

TFM takes a break for a little Halloween fun

Spider webs wrapped around the stairwell and bats flew around a black light lit ceiling. Glow sticks and candy scattered the tables while strobe lights flashed through the mirrors.  Spooky creatures like spiders, ghosts and haunted pumpkins filled the TFMoran lobby, creatively decorated by receptionist Jenn Clark. Friday October 26th was the perfect day for a company Halloween party. The ghost busters theme song played through the speakers as the staff enjoyed Puritan’s famous chicken tenders along with an assortment of other delicious foods. And, thanks to Maryanne Murray for making her festive witch’s finger and spider cookies.

Games were played and laughs were had. After a week of voting “how many pieces of candy corn are in the jar”, Shaun Vando came closest guessing 795, just 9 pieces short of the actual count of 804. Dylan Cruess took the win for the first ever pumpkin toss, beating out anyone who dared challenge him. After competing against multiple coworkers, Adam Jimenez also managed to come out on top as the winner for the Pumpkin Strongman. Many employees came dressed in their best Halloween costumes hoping to win two tickets to Haunted Acres. Although all the costumes were  excellent, Jeff Tate was voted number one as he sported a cow costume.
