Bedford, N.H. July 8, 2026– TFMoran, a leading engineering and surveying firm serving northern New England since 1968, has appointed Nick Golon, PE, as President and Chief Engineer, effective July 1, 2026. Golon succeeds Robert Duval, PE, who announced in May that he would step down as President while continuing as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Golon joined TFMoran in 2005 and has served for the past six years as a Principal and head of the firm’s Civil Engineering Department. He is the fourth President in TFMoran’s 58-year history.
Golon credited TFMoran’s thoughtful succession planning as a foundation for the firm’s continued momentum. “The future is always in motion. Throughout its history, TFMoran has adapted quickly, stayed nimble and evolved to meet the needs of its clients and communities. I’m excited for what’s ahead as we remain deeply committed to the clients, communities and colleagues who define our firm.”
Raised in Maine’s Lakes Region, Golon developed an early interest in engineering through his seventh-grade shop teacher and a bridge-building competition, where his bridge earned first place. He continued that path through drafting and design classes at Lake Region High School’s vocational center before attending Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology. While at Wentworth, Golon gained hands-on co-op experience as a field surveyor and field engineer on projects including the Kendall Station Repowering project in Cambridge, Mass., and Boston’s Big Dig.
Golon brings more than 25 years of civil engineering experience across a broad range of projects and is licensed in New Hampshire and Maine. During his tenure at TFMoran, he has led some of the firm’s largest site development projects, including the Merrimack Station Clean Air Project, a major pollution-control upgrade designed to significantly reduce mercury and nitrogen oxide emissions, and the Village on Technology Hill, a 110-acre mixed-use live-work-play development that integrates residential, commercial, and industrial uses in a walkable, environmentally focused community.
Golon has served on the Board of Directors of the New Hampshire Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), including as President, and continues to support ASCE’s education committee, which raises more than $20,000 annually for scholarships awarded to high school and college students. He also serves on the Project Committee for NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire, helping recommend projects that advance the organization’s mission to enhance people’s lives and the community environment by providing access to quality housing. Outside work and community service, Golon lives with his wife and three children on their 1785 homestead in Bedford, N.H. He enjoys gardening, landscaping, following the Boston Celtics and New England Patriots, and telling stories around the campfire with his family.
“Our past presidents established a strong legacy of technical excellence, steady leadership, and trusted client service, and I look forward to continuing that progress,” Golon said. “TFMoran’s strength has always come from its people and from the long-standing relationships we have built with our clients, partners, and communities. As we move forward, we will remain focused on delivering thoughtful, practical solutions while supporting the next generation of engineers, surveyors, and design professionals who will carry the firm into the future.”
