Skiing Into the Weekend: TFMoran’s Après-Ski TGIF Celebration

TFMoran recently kicked off the new year with our most recent TGIF celebration—an après-ski, winter-wonderland–themed afternoon filled with great food, friendly competition, and plenty of laughter at our Bedford office. It was the perfect way for our team to reconnect and unwind after the post-holiday hustle and a chance for people to sign up for our upcoming TFM and Family Ski night happening in February!

With a delicious spread provided by The Thirsty Moose in Manchester, New Hampshire, the menu featured a hearty chili bar with all the classic chili toppings, cheeseburger and chicken parm sliders, smoked chicken wings in a variety of flavors, pretzel bites with dipping sauces, and classic French fries—something for everyone to enjoy.

For dessert (and to keep us warm), we had a cozy hot chocolate and coffee bar complete with whipped cream, chocolate chips, candy canes, and festive toppings. Sweet treats included apple cider donuts and apple cider donut maple-glaze whoopie pies, which were a huge hit across the board all from The Common Man Roadside 

Adding to the fun, the team voted for the Best Ski Outfit, with the top honors going to Structural Engineer, Zac Valente, who fully embraced the après-ski spirit. We also played a couple rounds of bingo, with winners including Sr. Civil Project Manager, Tom Burns, Administrative Assistant, Mandi Monis, Civil Project Manager, Jonathan Devine, and Civil Engineer, Aidan Schlotman.

More than anything, the afternoon was about slowing down, reconnecting, and enjoying time together as a team. It was a great opportunity to catch up, share a few laughs, and reset after the busy holiday season.

At TFMoran, we value these moments just as much as the work we do every day. Our TGIF gatherings continue to be a meaningful way to celebrate our people, strengthen team connections, and foster the supportive culture we’re proud of here at TFMoran!

TFMoran is proud to be an Ally Sponsor the 2026 NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence (NHCADSV) Oscar Barn Fundraiser. This important event supports the Coalition’s work to prevent violence before it occurs and to ensure high-quality services are available to victims and survivors of crime.

Founded in the 1970s during the height of the women’s movement, NHCADSV has collaborated with local, state, and federal partners to pursue the shared goal of ending domestic and sexual violence. Today, the Coalition is a statewide network of 12 member programs, dedicated to providing survivors with comprehensive support, advancing education and prevention initiatives, influencing public policy, and promoting social change—all in the pursuit of a safer New Hampshire for everyone.

TFMoran is proud to continue our annual sponsorship of Friends of Aine in the new year!

Friends of Aine is a local non-profit dedicated to supporting grieving children and families. Funds raised through their events help provide free, compassionate grief support services across New Hampshire—bringing comfort, hope, and guidance to those navigating the hardest moments of their lives.

In 2026, Friends of Aine will celebrate the 15th Annual Kid’s Try-Athlon, a beloved community event where children ages 4–15 can swim, bike, and run—regardless of athletic ability. The race now welcomes more than 300 young participants, along with hundreds of spectators and volunteers. TFMoran is excited to sponsor the water stations throughout the course.

TFMoran is also honored to support the 10th Annual Gala as a Compassion Sponsor. This unforgettable evening will bring our community together to celebrate, support, and sustain Friends of Aine’s mission to help grieving children and families.

Events like these directly advance Friends of Aine’s work, allowing families to access the care and support they need during life’s most difficult moments.

TFMoran Attends Abbott Court Groundbreaking Ceremony

On Wednesday, November 12, TFMoran joined project partners, Town of Derry officials, and community members to celebrate the ceremonial groundbreaking of the Abbott Court Redevelopment Project in downtown Derry, NH.

As the civil engineering, structural engineering, and landscape architecture partner on the project, TFMoran is proud to support this transformational development that will bring new housing, parking, and commercial opportunities to the heart of the community.

The event featured remarks from local leaders and project partners, including representatives from Harvey Construction, Built Form, LLC, Lansing Melbourne Group, Randall-Paulson Architects,Desman Parking Consultants, and the Town of Derry, who spoke about the collaboration that brought this long-envisioned project to life. The Derry Fire and Police Departments were also on hand, offering support. Refreshments were provided as the group officially broke ground.

The Abbott Court project will deliver significant downtown revitalization, including:

  • NEW Units of market-rate housing

  • A NEW parking structure

  • Improved connectivity with the adjacent Derry Rail Trail

TFMoran’s team has been deeply involved in planning and design efforts to help transform this former brownfield site into a vibrant, mixed-use development that will enhance walkability, support local businesses, and attract new residents to downtown Derry.

This groundbreaking marks a major step forward in a project that will catalyze future investment and long-term economic growth in the community. TFMoran is honored to contribute engineering expertise to this important public-private partnership and looks forward to supporting progress as construction continues!

TFMoran supports McKelvie School Move-A-Thon

TFMoran is proud to sponsor the McKelvie Intermediate School Move-A-Thon, an annual fundraiser that helps provide students and teachers with valuable classroom and campus resources.

Over the years, Move-A-Thon donations have supported new Chromebooks, playground and courtyard improvements, and teacher “wish list” items that enhance learning. This year’s proceeds will go toward updating student spaces in the library, adding to the playground, and funding new instructional tools for teachers.

Due to weather, this year’s event was held on Wednesday, October 29th, bringing students, teachers, and volunteers together for a fun day of movement and school spirit. The Move-A-Thon is McKelvie’s only annual fundraiser, with 100% of proceeds directly benefiting the school.

TFMoran is always happy to continue supporting McKelvie’s efforts to create an engaging and enriching environment for its students!

A Spooktacular TGIF Celebration at TFMoran!

This past Friday, at our Bedford office, TFMoran employees celebrated being named one of Business NH Magazine’s 2025 “Best Companies to Work For” with a festive Halloween TGIF bash!

Employees enjoyed the beautiful fall afternoon outdoors with rounds of Mini Golf courtesy of Mini Golf On The Go. Nine creative holes were set up across our back lawn, where teammates showed off their putting skills, shared plenty of laughs, and proved that collaboration is par for the course at TFMoran!

Inside, we indulged in the perfect fall comfort food combo— from Mr. Mac’s in plenty of unique mac flavors: Beef Taco, BBQ Pulled Pork, Hot Honey, and Classic paired with a variety of the famous crispy chicken tenders in classic, coconut, hot and spicy, and buffalo from Puritan Backroom! We topped the afternoon off with two perfectly themed ice cream flavors from Inside Scoop: Pumpkin Oreo and Vanilla with M&Ms. It was the sweetest way to wrap up a perfect autumn day — no tricks, just treats!

Costumes were encouraged, and employees voted for their favorites in three categories: Funniest, Most Classic/Scariest, and Most Creative. Congratulations to our winners:

Funniest: Robin Carter, Accounting Assistant – Alien Abduction
Most Classic/ Scariest: Sophie Haddock, Assistant Land Planner/Landscape Designer – Pirate
Most Creative: Jennifer Porter, Senior Traffic Engineer – Traffic Light (complete with working lights!)

The spirit of Halloween — mixed with the pride of being named one of the Best Companies to Work For — made for a wickedly fun afternoon celebrating teamwork, creativity, and a company culture that’s truly a treat.

TFMoran Supporting the Next Generation of Surveyors!

This past weekend, our Assistant Survey Department Manager, Najad Ghanbari, LLS, wrapped up a mentorship program with the University of Maine.

Najad had the opportunity to mentor Roger Lawrence, an arborist with the City of Concord, who is pursuing a career change into the surveying field. Roger reached out seeking guidance for his in-person lab work as part of his online surveying courses — and Najad was happy to help!

We’re proud to see members of our team like Najad sharing their expertise and supporting future professionals in the industry. Keep up the great work!

TFMoran Sponsors the Great Island 5K!

TFMoran was proud to sponsor the 31st annual Great Island 5K in New Castle, NH — a scenic, family-friendly race that supports local charities across the Seacoast.

This year, our COO, Dylan Cruess and his wife Katrina, participated in the race. Dylan and Katrina ran while also pushing baby Charlotte along the course in her carriage! It was a great family outing and a fun way to support a meaningful cause.

The Great Island 5K is a nonprofit organization that donates 100% of its proceeds to charitable causes, including scholarships for college-bound seniors and support for local school athletic programs. Over the past 31 years, the race has raised nearly $400,000 for organizations throughout the Seacoast community!

TFMoran enjoyed sponsoring a well-run community event that supports great local causes.

TFMoran Connects with UNH Engineering Students at Fall Career Fair!

TFMoran Principal and Senior Structural Engineer, Kyle Roy, PE and Structural Engineer, Zac Valente, PE, a UNH Alumni, represented the firm at the University of New Hampshire’s Fall Career Fair on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

Students engaged in dynamic conversations with potential employers and refined their interviewing skills during the fair. The TFMoran team shared their experiences and provided valuable insights into the engineering profession.

The Career Fair proved to be a tremendous success, drawing enthusiastic and talented candidates ready to explore full-time and internship opportunities.

Thanks to UNH for hosting such a well-organized and energetic Career Fair. The TFMoran team wishes all students the best of luck as they pursue exciting opportunities in their fields!

TFMoran Sponsors 2025 Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber Economic Development Update

On September 19th, local leaders gathered at Bellavance Beverage in Londonderry for the Greater Derry-Londonderry Chamber’s 2025 Economic Development Update. The event featured updates across key sectors—energy, housing, manufacturing, education, transportation, and more—offering a snapshot of where the region stands and what’s ahead.

Here are some highlights from the morning’s speakers:

Manufacturing

Tony Fernandez, President/ Center Director of  NH Manufacturing Extension Partnership spoke about the importance of keeping our manufacturing sector competitive through innovation, technical support, and workforce development. As industries modernize, support for small and midsize manufacturers remains essential.

Energy

Michael Licata, Director of Government and Community Relations at Eversource Energy ,shared how grid modernization is top of mind. With more storms, more demand, and more renewables in the mix, Eversource is investing heavily in vegetation management and upgrading infrastructure. Costs are rising—especially due to supply chain issues—but there are more options now for customers to manage usage and energy bills.

Transportation

Tom Malafronte, Director of Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT), highlighted strong growth in passenger and cargo traffic. New routes are launching, including Fort Lauderdale and Raleigh-Durham, and MHT is now the third-largest cargo airport in New England. A new airport master plan is in the works, focusing on modernization and efficiency.

Finance & Small Business

Amy Bassett, NH District Director of the US Small Business Administration reported that lending is up—both in volume and value. SBA loans are helping businesses grow and invest in big ways. She also encouraged local businesses to connect with free SBA resources like the Small Business Development Center for counseling and support.

Healthcare

Dr. Michael Bergeron, Chief Medical Officer of Derry Medical Center emphasized the role healthcare plays in regional stability. He stressed the need for expanded services and stronger provider networks to meet growing demand and support a healthy workforce.

Workforce & Education

Mica Stark, President & CEO of  NH College and University Council/  Executive Director of Education Alliance of NH. Along with Dr. William Nevious President of Pinkerton Academy’s Board of Directors, both spoke on education and workforce pipelines. The message was clear: aligning K–12, higher ed, and job training programs with today’s industry needs is critical for future growth.

Housing

Rob Dapice, Executive Director of NH Housing addressed one of the region’s biggest challenges—housing affordability. He called for more workforce housing options, zoning flexibility, and collaboration between municipalities and developers to meet growing demand.
